Carbon Offsetting

As climate change and other environmental issues take center stage right now and impact all areas of our lives we, at Ministry of Medals/Your Virtual Challenges, are doing what we can to reduce our carbon footprint.

We are aware that many of our virtual runners love a traditional metal medal. Our metal medals are currently produced in a factory in China, which we know contributes a considerable amount to our carbon footprint. We want to keep producing these medals for you so moving forward, we will now make a donation every month to offset this footprint.

A carbon offset is a way to compensate for our emissions by funding an equivalent carbon dioxide saving elsewhere. Carbon offsetting is used to balance out emissions by helping to pay for emission savings in other parts of the world.

Offsetting plays a vital role in combating climate change.

Our contribution will support the planting of 2 trees in the UK every month. The project mainly plants in school locations, helping to educate children and support wildlife habitats whilst sequestering carbon emissions. For every tree planted in the UK, another tree will be planted in a country affected by deforestation. Each tree planted will offset 1 tonne of CO2.
